I spent the last six months bouncing around the walls of the house, exploring new forms of identity, intimacy and erotism with my camera.
— Carolina Nobile

Forces in tension simmer beneath the surface of Carolina Nobile’s enchanting personal photography. Light and shadow, passion and mundanity, knowledge and mystery—it’s all here. The autobiographical images in her recent series disarm with a signature honesty, humor, and style. At the same time, they invite us to join in her personal reflections on the conflicting natures of seeing and being seen.

“I moved to Mexico City from Buenos Aires just as the state of emergency was beginning to escalate around the world,” Carolina tells us.

“I was unemployed, unable to have anything even slightly similar to a daily routine, with no points of reference in this new life, I spent the last six months bouncing around the walls of the house, trying to kill time and exploring new forms of identity, intimacy and erotism with my camera.”

“These photos offer a glimpse of life as a private diary expressed through the lens.”
